The Gear Gate from Hoodworks gives you all kinds of functionality where your current tailgate only keeps stuff from falling out. The Gear Gate, which will be made for all the major brands and models with specs for all kinds of sports, sets you up with an extreme duty Nanuk toolbox, California T-handles to release and hold, 3-way custom waterproof LEDs, an extreme duty lock chain to hold down your bikes that will be secured with UB-Shafts that can accept open-dropout forks as well as thru-axle designs. One of my favorite features is the NanoVault NV300 combo safe so you can leave your wallet and keys with confidence that they’ll be there when you get back. Oh, and of course it has a couple of bottle openers. It’s made in Portland, Oregon so you can feel good about supporting a domestic company. I dig this bike specific design and am excited to see what the other sport specific designs look like.
